Truck involved in fatal hit & run case located by Corpus Christi police

The truck that ran over and killed a 26-year-old man early Sunday morning in Port Aransas has been located, Corpus Christi police confirmed.

The deadly hit and run incident, which occurred over the weekend on highway 361 near the Post Office in Port Aransas, killed 26-year-old Dustin Willis.

Police officers located the truck, a Ford F-150 King Ranch, at Central Body Shop, at 610 North Port Avenue, after they received a call from someone about a discarded truck. Officers later confirmed that it was the same truck that ran over and killed Willis. The truck's right-front and windshield got damaged in the accident.

Speaking about the deadly crash, Dustin's aunt Ashley Acuff said, "He was struck somewhere in front of the post office, projected forward, there are parts of the car left behind."

Dustin's girlfriend Macy Haynes, who is pregnant with Dustin's third child, said she had moved from Dallas to Port Aransas just last week. She also revealed that the funeral for Dustin would be held in Dallas.

Police believe that the driver of the truck might have got a lift from someone, and that person might not be aware that the driver was involved in a deadly hit and run incident.

Investigators have asked anyone, who picked up someone from Central Body Shop at 610 North Port between 2 A. M. Sunday and 8 A. M. Monday, to contact at (361) 749-6241.
