UM Museum of Art to remain in Bangor through 2031

The University of Maine's Museum of Art will remain in Bangor for nearly another two decades, thanks to a recent renewal of its lease.

The museum, located in the Norumbega Hall building on the Harlow Street in downtown Bangor, said in a statement that it lease had been renewed for 17 years, allowing it to remain in the same building in Bangor through 2031.

Denroy Plastics reveals multi-million dollar dealat Farnborough Airshow

Denroy Plastics, a leading moulding manufacturer from Bangor, has been able to secure a multi-million contract with Texas-based Triumph Aerostructures-Vought Aircraft Division.

The contract for five years was announced at the Farnborough Airshow yesterday. Under the deal, Denroy Plastics will supply components to Triumph Aerostructures-Vought Aircraft Division for use on the Bombardier Global 7000 and Global 8000 business jets. Denroy Plastics now employs about 160 people at its Bangor plant and is a unit of the Denroy Group, which also owns Denman International hair-care range.

A 16 year old golfer from Bangor is leading on the opening day of the ongoing Maine Amateur golf championship in Goliath Woodlands Club.

Drew Powell from Bangor is sharing the lead with 20 year old Joe Walp from Portland as both shot 2-under 70 on the opening day of the 95th Maine Amateur tournament. Portland's Matt Greenleaf is on the third position with 1-under 71. Joe Baker of Norway, Andrew Slattery of West Minot and Keith Patterson II of Saco are tied at 72. Defending champion Ricky Jones and past winner Eric Crouse each crafted a 75.
